Listening To The Silence

Posted on Updated on

I wake up in an echo of something beautiful.

something that is gone.

something that I miss.

and it hurts

I go to the ocean

yesterday a freedom

today an escape

I close my eyes

and I listen

past the seagulls

through the waves

to the silence inside

and I am

and I listen to the silence.

    In the silence of ourselves
    We see
    We hear
    we listen
    we learn
    And We are renewed!

And hoping that seagull doesn’t take a giant shit on my head, lol.
Yours is the 5th post about the ocean I’ve read today. I must get myself to the coast soon!

Haha that has happened a few times – takes forever to get it out of your hair :D

If you suddenly keep noticing stuff about the ocean, you probably should go there. That’s why I went to India – you can’t argue with the signs ;)

Too true. We’re actually taking a quick trip to Cali so maybe it’s just an affirmation that I’m going to have a good time…dodging falling poo, et al :)

True. That realization usually opens all sort of portals to postulation.

Exactly. We just need a little push. Would be nice if we could get it without but ah well ;)

Push? Most of the time I either clumsily trip and crash through the door or get thrown through it from a speeding bus. ;) Still learn the lessons though.

Haha sounds like you are just as masochistic and/or thickheaded as I am – good to know :)
In all honesty, mostly I willingly jump into total destruction all on my own, no push necessary.

I have been known to have the stubbornness of the proverbial jackass.

Hmmmmm……so how can we help improve your jumping skills?

Wow, that’s a lot of stubborn, I’m impressed! I see great quality in that, a definite positive. I think..

My jumping skills.. I have a feeling it’s a lost cause – the outcome always end up amazing though and when you think of it, what’s a bit of despair and struggle in the larger scheme of things ;)

Stubbornness has be a help at times and a source of trouble as well. But that is a whole different story.

“Lost cause”? There’s no such thing as a lost cause unless you give up and let it roll over you. It may take some time, some friends, and lots of talking (as well as coffee and/or alcohol, and chocolate, and pizza, and more alcohol), but there’s no such thing as a lost cause.

Think of it more like a “hindered hope.” What you may call a lost cause could be just delayed hope.

Despair and struggle are the tools used to help us grow and learn. Nature is a bitch about that, but we do learn.

If there’s anything I can do to help, Inbox me and let’s talk.

                      You are really great!
What I mean, though, is that this ‘total destruction’ really works for me, I don’t mind it. Maybe because I know that I learn a ton and gain huge insights but regardless, I’m not trying to change it and I don’t think I would want it any other way. Just as low as I fall, as high I fly :)

When face down in the dirt, you can find gems. When you soar, you see the world in a new perspective.

All I ask is that you be willing to reach out if you need a hand, or an ear, or someone to help you dig.
