First time I heard this track, it didn’t really move me. Then I heard it again, or more accurately, then I danced to it. I’m not sure where they came from, or where they’d been resting before, but gigantuous echoing emotions rose to the surface and expressed themselves through my body in a completely new way – and it just blew my mind. Talk about peak experience! Since then my dancing has transformed, stretched itself, and in the process, stretching me. Wow. Just wow.
Too busy, and also too much in-process these days to actually form original sentences, but I do constantly stumble upon quotes that perfectly describe this beautiful process of life, in me and around me. Like this one..
“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself, if you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.”
~ Lao Tzu
time tracing down a dirty cheek
dripping from a scraped chin
puddles of decay following battle
stubbornly growing cribbled roses
wounded by hyena behavior
licking their own salt crusted petals
and the gardener is smiling
as she walks away
so it’s building up around you and inside you and it’s rising and flowing faster and catching fire that threatens to suffocate the joy that is in your heart
and the anger turns to hurt turns to confusion turns to numb turns to a decision to transform the pain and set free the bubbles forming in your brain
so you shake it and let it twist you around and into something new and every single motion is a celebration of transformation into the love that is you
and you dance it out
